University scholarships — a welcome gift for students in need
Third-year students of the bachelor of commerce course at the University of Free State embarked on an exercise for their undergraduate final year where they competed for scholarships from Tata.
This was a first-of-its-kind initiative, where students were tasked to apply their learning by analysing and studying the marketing strategies of Tata businesses in Africa.
The students presented their findings and gave interesting insights and ideas. The top ten students won the competition and were awarded individual scholarships for their innovation and creativity.
There were also those that competed in groups and four groups were selected as winners and also awarded with scholarships. In total, Tata made an investment of R275,000 to future leaders in business and industry.
